To facilitate stakeholders' mutual understanding of their various needs, objectives and practices, LOOKNorth provides information resources about natural resource industries, remote sensing technologies and the regulatory and economic environments of Canada's North. Our staff travel throughout the country, particularly the North, presenting workshops and presentations, and participating in conferences and exhibitions. In addition we provide links to currently available resources, below. Additional resources will be added as they become available.
Remote Sensing Technology and Innovation
Remote sensing is the acquisition of information about an object or phenomenon, without making physical contact with it. Most commonly today, remote sensing refers to the use of sensor technologies to detect and classify objects on Earth (whether on the surface or in the atmosphere or oceans.
