LOOKNorthâs initial five-year, $15 million suite of programs focuses on:
Sector Assessments
Identifying and assessing information needs and technology gaps by sector (principally oil & gas, mining, hydro-electric and transportation) and project phase (evaluation, permitting, exploration, development and transportation);
Outreach
Facilitating information sharing amongst stakeholders in northern development (including industry, government, academia and Northern peoples and communities) through workshops and forums, particularly on the applicability and use of monitoring technologies for data collection in support of decision-making;
Technology Validation
Developing business cases and co-funding technology validation projects as a precursor to long-term implementation;
Research & Development
Guiding R&D and technology commercialization activity where gaps currently exist.
